Branson Cedar Signs

The story of Here’s Your Cedar Sign began long before the shop opened its doors in 2015. Back in 2005, Gary and Kim were visiting Branson when they stopped to order a custom cedar sign from a local craftsman named Jake — a man who had been carving signs in Branson for decades. What started as a simple purchase turned into a long conversation about the craft, the tools, and the business behind it.

Right there on vacation, Gary said, “I’d love to learn how to do this.” 
Jake told him he could.

That moment changed everything.

When Gary returned home to Oklahoma, he started practicing in his garage — carving, sanding, learning, and falling in love with the craft. Within six months, the Gary and Kim packed up their home and animals and moved to Branson so Gary could work directly with Jake and learn the old‑school methods from the man who helped build the 40‑year Branson cedar‑sign tradition.

From 2006 to 2015, Gary carved signs Jake, carrying on the legacy of handcrafted cedar signs made the traditional way. When Jake became ill and sadly passed away in 2015, Gary and Kim honored his memory by continuing the craft he had devoted his life to. They renamed the business Here’s Your Cedar Sign and opened their doors with the same mission: keep the tradition alive.

Today, Gary is Branson’s last remaining handcrafted cedar‑sign maker. Every sign is carved by hand using beautiful ozark red cedar, classic tools, and the same techniques passed down from Jake and the craftsmen before him. No mass‑produced shortcuts. No machine‑made lookalikes. Just authentic, custom cedar signs that capture the rustic beauty of the Ozarks.
